Which LED strips to choose for the kitchen?

Which LED strips to choose for the kitchen?

Every home should have the most friendly atmosphere that favors relaxation and concentration when working from home. The kitchen room is by far the most demanding in this regard. According to most people, it is in the kitchens that the most time is spent performing typical, everyday activities. Preparing meals and eating ready meals together in the kitchen or in the dining room is a way of long talks and conversations, which are in most cases very interesting for all household members. That is why in kitchens it is worth paying attention to the selection of appropriate lighting and focus on modern and attractive solutions that will not only illuminate the entire room well, but will also favor the prevailing atmosphere. LED strips are now one of the most popular choices used both in homes and apartments for a reason.

It is always worth taking care of a home interior

Naturally, the most time at home is always spent on family talks or spending free time together watching TV or listening to music. Many people do not take care of their interior furnishings, and as a result they live in houses with a not very pleasant atmosphere. It is greatly influenced by, among other things, the type of furniture, colors, and the accessories and additions used. However, you cannot forget about lighting, which is one of the most important factors influencing the prevailing atmosphere, especially in the evening.

The heart of every home is... the kitchen!

A kitchen room is particularly important in every apartment. This is where family life takes place. Many people mistakenly assume that the most important space in any home or apartment is the living room. In the living room you can rest, watch TV or listen to music, but it is in the kitchen that meals are prepared together, which is a more engaging activity that in many cases definitely connects the household members. This room is also one of the most difficult to arrange, because the style reflects the place of practicality. Storing dishes, cutlery or other accessories, spices and kitchen appliances requires a lot of free space, which is often lacking in small kitchens in apartment blocks. Lighting is also important, as it can positively or negatively affect the arrangement and thus also the atmosphere.

LED strips - a modern and attractive light source in every home

LED strips are an element of complementary light, which is used in a given room not because of the increase in the amount of light, but because of its emphasis. These are accessories that come in hundreds of different variants, so their selection is often difficult and time-consuming. The strips differ, among other things, in length, the number of individual LEDs, as well as the possible installation in individual elements of interior equipment. Many designers install skirting boards directly under the cabinets in the upper part of the kitchen, which illuminate the place where meals and dishes are prepared. The skirting boards are thin, narrow and are very easy to install in most places, so any person interested in DIY will be able to handle them properly. It is also worth noting that the installation of LED strips is also done by special lighting companies, which pay attention to all, even the most insignificant details during installation.

Which LED strips are worth buying and what to consider when choosing them?

LED strips, also known as LED strips, usually come in the form of pre-cut strips that are designed for immediate installation at home. There are single light sources in the form of LED bulbs on the tape, which can be placed very close to each other or slightly apart. The strength of the generated light depends on it. The LEDs can be located outside, giving the greatest amount of light, or behind a cover, usually made of translucent material, which allows the light to refract and reduce its intensity.

Pay attention to the light power of the LED strip

The basic criterion for choosing a LED strip should be the power of the generated light. This parameter is usually expressed in watts (W) per running meter of the strip, which well describes the lighting capabilities of a given model. For example, a tape with a power of 5W / 1mb of the strip will be the perfect choice, it is to complement the lighting and illuminate only a specific part of a given piece of furniture. Such power generates only a slight glow that effectively emphasizes the kitchen arrangement and is intended for use, for example, with a ceiling lamp. In turn, the power of 12W/1mb will be suitable for use in kitchens where there is no light. Such strips glow quite intensively and greatly affect the attractiveness of a given room. You can also find even stronger models in stores, even up to 200W/mb, which can already be used as the basic lighting for any kitchen.

The color of the light is definitely the most important

Individual LED strips also differ in the color of light, which greatly affects the final effect and the possibility of using a given tape within a specific kitchen room. The market offers, among other things, strips that generate very cold light, which may resemble blue in the evening. Such applause is conducive to concentration, but it does not have a good effect on the well-being of the household members, which is why it is mainly used in company kitchens or in offices. Day-colored LED strip is a much better choice for a home kitchen. It is similar to sunlight, thanks to which it provides a sensational atmosphere, and at the same time perfectly harmonizes with other light sources. At the other end of the spectrum are warm LED strips that generate low-temperature light. Such lighting has a positive effect on the mood and atmosphere, which is why it is usually used in interiors where family talks or relaxation take place. However, they will also be used in kitchens, especially as additional and complementary lighting. However, there are two drawbacks to using low-temperature light. The first is the ability to "bite" with cool or neutral lighting, and the fact that light with a low heat color does not provide adequate visibility while cooking.
