Order processing time

At Scandinavian Handles, we process orders in several ways. Some products are shipped directly from our warehouse in Gdansk, some are ordered from manufacturers, and selected products are made to order.

Products available in our warehouse are usually shipped within 2 business days after the payment has been booked. Processing time may be longer in the case of stock shortages, products ordered from suppliers, or made-to-order items.

How we process orders?

Every order goes through several stages. This allows us to check product availability, confirm payment, complete the order and secure it properly for transport.

We receive your order

After placing an order, you will receive a confirmation. The order enters our system and we start verifying it.

We wait for the payment to be booked

For bank transfer, card payment or electronic payment, the processing time is counted from the moment the funds are booked on our account or settlement account.

We verify product availability

We check whether the products are available in our warehouse, need to be ordered from the manufacturer, or are made to order.

We complete the order

Products available immediately are prepared from stock. Products with longer processing times wait for delivery or production by the manufacturer.

We pack the order

Once the order is complete, we secure the products for transport. Fragile, larger or non-standard products may require extra care when packing.

We hand the parcel to the courier

After the parcel is physically shipped, you receive a tracking number. From that point, delivery depends on the courier company.

In our store, products may have different processing times. The availability information shown on the product page is important because it affects the completion time of the whole order.

Products available in our warehouse are usually shipped within 2 business days after payment has been booked.

MANUFACTURER

Products available from the manufacturer

Some products may be available from the manufacturer or supplier, but not physically in our warehouse. In that case, we first need to order the product, receive it, check it and prepare it for shipping.

MADE TO ORDER

Made-to-order products

Selected products are prepared especially for the customer. In such cases, the processing time may be longer and may depend on the manufacturer, finish, colour, size or configuration.

How do we calculate the processing time for the whole order?

If an order contains several products with different processing times, we normally use the longest processing time. This means products available sooner may wait for items ordered from the manufacturer or made to order.

Processing times are given in business days. Weekends and public holidays are not included.

If you want part of the order to be shipped earlier, please contact us. We will check whether split shipping is possible and whether it involves an additional delivery cost.

Mixed orders

A mixed order contains products with different processing times, for example an in-stock item and a product ordered from the manufacturer.

We normally ship such orders once everything is complete. This way, the customer receives one complete shipment and the products are packed together in an organised way.

One complete shipment

We normally wait until the entire order is complete and ship it together.

Possible order split

If some products are available sooner, we can check whether earlier partial shipment is possible.

Several parcels

Larger orders or products requiring separate protection may be shipped in several parcels.

Payment

If you choose bank transfer, card payment or electronic payment, the processing time is counted from the day the funds are booked on the seller’s bank account or settlement account.

For online bank transfers, the delivery time may be extended by the transfer processing time.

For instalment payments, the processing time may be extended by the time needed to prepare and sign the instalment agreement.

Order statuses and Customer Panel

After placing an order, you will be kept informed about status changes. We send a message when:

We have received your order.

The order has been paid and the payment has been booked.

We have started completing the order.

The order has been completed and is waiting for the courier.

The goods have been shipped.

In the Customer Panel, you can always check the current order status and, once the parcel has been shipped, the courier tracking number.

The status “paid” means the payment has been booked. It does not yet mean that the parcel is ready to ship. The status “in progress” may mean order completion, waiting for a product from the manufacturer, or preparing the order for packing.

Courier delivery

Parcels are delivered by courier companies. From the moment of dispatch, the carrier is responsible for delivering the parcel as quickly as possible.

Delivery usually takes 1-2 business days, depending on the shipment type, delivery address and the courier company’s work.

The tracking number appears only after the parcel has been physically shipped. The status “paid” or “in progress” does not yet mean that the parcel has been handed over to the courier.

The tracking link may start working only after the courier collects and scans the parcel.

Order changes and delays

If you want to change the delivery address, product variant, quantity or other order details, contact us as soon as possible. Whether we can make changes depends on the order stage.

For made-to-order products or products ordered especially for the customer, changing or cancelling an item may no longer be possible once the manufacturer has started processing it.

If the processing time changes because of a delay on the manufacturer’s, supplier’s or carrier’s side, we will inform you as soon as possible. In such situations, we can check available options, such as waiting for the full order, splitting the shipment or changing the product to another available variant.

Frequently asked questions

Why has my order not been shipped yet?

Payment starts the processing stage, but the order may still be waiting for product completion, supplier delivery or safe packing.

Why was an available product not shipped immediately?

A product may be available from the manufacturer or supplier, but not physically in our warehouse. In that case, we need time to order it, receive it and prepare it for shipping.

Can I receive part of my order earlier?

For mixed orders, we can check whether earlier shipment of in-stock items is possible. Contact us and we will verify the available options.

Does the processing time include weekends?

Processing times are given in business days. Weekends and public holidays are not included.

When will I receive the tracking number?

The tracking number appears only after the parcel is physically shipped. Payment booking or order completion does not yet mean that the parcel has been handed to the courier.

Why is the tracking link not working yet?

The tracking number may be visible before the courier’s first scan. The tracking link usually starts working after the parcel is collected and scanned by the carrier.

Can my order arrive in several parcels?

Yes, larger or more varied orders may be shipped in several parcels. Each parcel may have a separate tracking number.

Why can the processing time change?

Processing time may be affected by manufacturer availability, selected product variant, delivery delay, seasonal production load or transport. If the date changes, we will provide updated information.
